How to Use the Amaran Ace Light in Your Mini Kit

Light It Right: Add Clarity, Warmth, and Polish to Every Shot

Great lighting doesn’t need to be complicated. Inside your Mini Kit 4, you’ll find the Amaran Ace Light—a powerful, compact LED that can instantly improve the look and feel of your footage.

Here’s how to use it like a pro.

🔧 Step 1: Mount the Light

Clip the Amaran light onto the side handle of your rig. Make sure it’s secure, especially if you’re filming on the move. To remove the light, press the blue button just below the mounting point.

⚠️ If you’re moving while filming, remove the magnetic diffuser first—it may show up in your frame.

🔋 Step 2: Power It On

Slide the power switch up on the side of the light to turn it on. Above the power button is the back button and below is the USB-C charging point.

💡 Step 3: Adjust Brightness and Colour (CCT Mode)

The light uses CCT mode to control brightness and colour temperature. Here’s how to navigate it:

  1. Enter CCT mode – Press the dial to select it in the menu

  3. To change colour temperature, scroll the dial to CCT mode and press. Once in you can change the colour of the light from warm to cool. The smaller the number the warmer the light and the larger the number the cooler. The goal is to have the light be the same colour as other lights in your scene.

    2. 4500K - typical indoor lighting
    3. 5500K - sunlight and outdoors

🧲 Step 5: Use the Magnetic Diffuser (When Stationary)

If your camera is on a tripod or fixed position, go ahead and pop the diffuser back on. It softens the light, reduces harsh shadows, and helps create a flattering, professional look for your subject. When moving however it can sometimes come into frame so best to take it off.
